The Best Homemade Face Mask for Mature Skin

July 17, 2021

The face mask is an essential beauty treatment for mature skin during the winter to keep the skin radiant and hydrated. Mature skin needs special attention in the winter months, and a mask is an excellent treatment.

The advantage is that the mask can be made at home using natural ingredients. As a result, you will save on cosmetics and the safety of what you spread on the skin.

In this article, you will find the best homemade face mask to care for your skin throughout the year.

How to prepare mature skin before applying the mask?

We advise you to do a light exfoliation; for the best result, remove dead skin cells with purifying mask.

Massage the product with circular movements and then rinse with warm water and a microfiber cloth to remove any residue without irritating the skin.

The mask is effective because it consists of very active substances on the skin, with a much higher concentration of active ingredients than a cream.

Therefore, cleaning the skin before using the mask favours the penetration of the product in-depth.

Do not forget to apply a face mask to the neck, Decolleté and hands.

Honey and lemon purifying mask

Combining the beneficial emollient and protective properties of honey with the purifying and disinfectant properties of lemon helps keep your skin soft and clean for a long time.

  • Two tablespoons of honey;
  • the juice of half a lemon.

Mix and distribute this pack on the face, avoiding the eye area, and let it work for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Coffee and honey purifying mask

Let’s start with two excellent essential ingredients coffee and honey. They are rich in antioxidants, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and other properties. That makes the skin soft and supple: honey will leave the skin very soft and velvety. Coffee will work as a natural exfoliant, awakening all the pores of the face.

  • 1 teaspoon of honey;
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coffee.

Mix everything, let it act for just five minutes, apply to the face and rinse with warm water after 20 minutes.

Aloe vera and coconut oil regenerating mask

Aloe vera gel is an excellent ingredient because it has antiseptic, calming, moisturizing and healing properties. In addition, Aloe vera is rich in vitamins and active ingredients that regenerate functionally and, therefore, are very useful on mature skin and oily skin, thanks to its antiseptic and healing action. I like to enrich this mask with coconut oil.

  • 1 tablespoon of aloe gel;
  • 1 teaspoon of coco oil.

Put the coconut oil in a glass bowl, add the aloe vera gel and continue working the mixture until you get a smooth gel. Your recipe is ready. Apply to face and leave for 20 minutes.

Banana and yoghurt hydrating mask

Did you know that banana pulp relieves dehydrated skin? You would love it! 💛💛

  • 1 ripe banana;
  • 2 tablespoons of plain yoghurt;
  • 2 teaspoons of honey.

Mash a banana with a fork, reduce it to a cream, add the yoghurt and honey and mix until a smooth cream is obtained.

Apply the mask to a clean, dry face, let it sit for 20 minutes, rinse, and continue your moisturizing routine.

Avocado and honey nutrient mask

Avocados contain vitamin E and carotenoids, essential for giving elasticity. In addition, they have many other substances that protect tissues and promote cell renewal, restoring the skin’s regular hydrolipidic film.

  • 1/2 ripe avocado;
  • 1 teaspoon of honey.

Put the pulp avocado in a bowl and mash it with a fork, add honey and mix it all up: you can keep it on your face for about 20 minutes, wash with warm water.

Papaya Antioxidant Mask

Papaya is a fruit rich in vitamins and minerals and is an ally in combating wrinkled, dull and dry skin.

If you want to enrich the mask for an extreme result, try improving it with sesame oil with a nourishing action and sweet almond oil with an elastic action on tissues.

  • 30 g of papaya pulp;
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of almond oil.

Mix everything until you get a smooth, spreadable emulsion. If the mixture is still too runny, you can add half a teaspoon of rice starch. Finished the procedure, distribute the mask on the face, and let it sit for 20 minutes.
